It was the first time in many years that the Macksville Marlins have hosted this event, and a spin-off was an economic boost for the town’s goods and service providers.
On the water, up for grabs at the meet was the chance to represent Swimming North Coast at the Speedo Sprint finals in Sydney on March 8.
Eleven Marlins earned that honour by way of finishing in the top four in their age group (eight to 13 years) in the respective strokes.
All up, 196 swimmers hit the Macksville pool, with a staggering 1083 race entries.
Nineteen swimming clubs were represented and there were 17 technical officials in attendance.
