Further rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours which could produce renewed river rises. The situation is being closely monitored and revised predictions issued if necessary
EARLIER TUESDAY: More than 150 millimetres of rain has fallen during the past 18 hours to 9am Tuesday.
Low pressure trough lies over inland NSW, with onshore winds tending more easterly and heavy rain has eased.
The severe weather warning for the Mid-North Coast forecast district has been cancelled, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
- Keep clear of fallen power lines.
- Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
- Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
- Beware of fallen trees or debris on the road.
- For emergency help in floods and storms, ring your local SES Unit on 132 500.
This rain has caused minor flooding along the Nambucca River at Bowraville where a moderate flood peak is expected around midday.
Meanwhile, minor flooding is current along the Bellinger River at Bellingen where the river peaked at 4.34 metres at 10:30am caused by the overnight rain.
Further rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours which could produce renewed river rises.

The Bureau of Meteorology reports that water levels at Thora haved remained below minor flood level of 3.0 metres.
With more rain forecast renewed river level rises of the Bellinger River are possible.
The next warning will be issued by 4pm.
