A team of 17 performed consistently with the majority achieving personal best times while competing against top swimmers from 30 Area clubs spanning from Forster in the south to Twin Towns in the north.
For Marlin members Lily Galvin, Jade Summerville, Grace Webb and Matthia Rudder this was their first time competing at a meet of this calibre, having to first achieve qualifying times to gain entry.
Nominations were up on last year with swimmers eager to compete and qualify for selection in the Swimming North Coast (SNC) Development Squads for 2015. The overall club point score this year had Port Macquarie as the clear winners in front of Sawtell and Trinity Lismore a close third. Macksville Marlins achieved a respectable seventh place which was an outstanding result considering the smaller team size in comparison to other clubs.
Marlins swimmers were a regular fixture on the dais with an astonishing 27 medals won.
Records tumbled over the weekend with Declan Sutton breaking a total of five (three SNC Long Course Championship and two long course overall records). His efforts in the pool also earned him the 12 years Age Champion and the 13 years & Under Distance Champion trophies.
