For the past 35 years, the fair has been the major fundraising event for the Lions and helps the club to assist those in need in the community locally, nationally and internationally.
Last year The Lions assisted or donated to:
* Breakfast program for a local primary school
* Built ramps for locals who needed better access to their homes
* Provided funds to help train hearing dogs
* Assisted and donated funds to the world measles vaccination program
* Donated to the purchase of defibrillator for the Valla Beach community
* Provided funds to the Valla Rural Fire Service to help buy some much needed equipment
* Donated to the Lions Australia emergency fund to assist with clean up after flooding in Queensland.
The 2015 fair will be held at the Lions Reserve, Ocean View Dr, Valla Beach, from 8am to 2pm.
A feature will be an open mic/karaoke - everyone is welcome to bring their music, their voice and their cheer squad. All entrants will win a prize.
Popular staples of the fair include a climbing wall, jumping castle, bungy run and face painting.
Other crowd pleasers will be the chance to man an RFS water hose, visit the exhibits and markets and enjoy the music and singing. There will be plenty of food onsite, and if the day is warm as it most likely will be, bring your swimmers and walk to the beach or river for a splash.
The Valla Fair will as ever be a family friendly event.
