Club president Jason O’Donnell won the open surf ski event, Andrew Draper won the open ironman event, and Virginia Arkell won the open beach sprints.
In boating action, 52 crews competed in a total of 84 races over two days of gorgeous weather.
In the club championship, Kempsey/Crescent Head took the lead from Woolgoolga after topping the point score on both days.
In the Open Men - Woolgoolga hold the lead after winning both rounds three and four with Kempsey/Crescent Head placing second.
In the Open Women - Yamba placed first on the Saturday with Currumbin second and the Kempsey/Crescent Head (KCH) Chooks. Sunday saw Tacking Point take line honours with Yamba second and Currumbin third. The KCH Chooks hold the lead in the division overall.
In the reserves - Saturday saw Cape Hawke at the top of the table, followed by Macksville/Scotts Head (MSH) and Maroochydore. Sunday was a better day for the hosts, winning the day (and leading overall) ahead of Yamba and Evans Head.
In the U19s - Cudgen won the day on the Saturday ahead of the Brunz Boys and the KCH Crumbles. The Sunday was won by Brunswick Heads followed by the Crezo Crumbles and the Wauchope Bonny Hills (WBH) Rusty Hooks. Brunswick are leading the division with Cudgen not far behind.
In the Masters 160s - the crew from North Bondi rowed well on the Saturday, winning over Tacking Point and Port Macquarie. The Sunday saw Yamba salute (and increase their overall lead) ahead of Port Macquarie and North Bondi.
In the Masters 200s - The Woolgoolga Long Strokers won on day one, followed by the Lycra Lovers from KCH and the MSH Zoo Crew. The MSH Zoo Crew dug deep to win on day two ahead of the KCH Lycra Lovers and the Woopi Long Strokers.
In the Masters Women - the gals from Cape Hawke took out day one over Woopi and WBH. Day two saw Woopi on top of the table ahead of Cape Hawke, WBH and Port Macquarie.
The two day carnival saw the small reserve at Scotts Head’s Forster Beach overflowing with surf boats, surf skis and swimmers in conditions that were favourable on Saturday. By Sunday, the swell had dropped and things on the water were a bit too quiet.
“We had a great turnout of competitors and of the community who came together to support the carnival,” president O’Donnell said.
“The atmosphere on the beach and in the town over the weekend was great.”
