THE final rounds of the Nambucca Heads Ladies Golf Championships were played on Wednesday when eight marker Maxine Townsend defended her title, winning for the seventh straight year.

Maxine compiled an excellent 250 gross for the Midcoast Trucks sponsored tourney.
The triumph was well deserved and is a credit to Maxine’s skill and commitment to her golf.
Runner up was Glenys Thompson (15 handicap) on 270. Nett winner was Judy Boyle (20) with 224.
Div 2 winner was a happy Joy Green (26) with a gross of 308, one clear of Glennis Russell (24) on 309. Joy also took out the nett trophy with 230.
Div 3 winner was a near speechless Di Hopkins (34) with a gross 328, from Linda Fuller (33) on 333. Di also took out the nett trophy with a total of 226.
Midcoast Trucks were represented by Adrienne Smith, and they were thanked for their generous sponsorship of this prestigious event.
The daily event on Wednesday was won by one of the club’s up and coming golfers, Donna Easey (33), with a nett 70.
Div 1 winner was Glenys Thompson (15) 71 nett, runner up Maxine Townsend (8) 73. Div 2 was won by Dorothy Bunyan (25) nett 77, on C/B from Glennis Russell (24). Div 3 runner-up was Lesley Buxton (35) 72.
NTPs 5th Div 1 Maz McNally, Div 2 jackpot, Div 3 Faye Hopkins, pizza hole (13th) Gwen Maxwell and all-in on 18 Mavis Davis.
