WITH no end in sight to the hot, dry conditions and the mercury tipped to hit 37 degrees on Sunday out Missabotti way, the Rural Fire Service has suspended all local fire permits until further notice.

RFS operations manager for Kempsey/Nambucca, Inspector Tony Jarrett, said the decision was made on Monday and applied to both Nambucca and Kempsey shires.
“It really is very dry out there ... the effect of the rain we got last month has now been lost and we are back to where we were early in August,” Insp Jarrett told the Guardian.
“Significant rain is needed before the suspension is lifted.”
Last week saw a fire, which started on private land up North Arm on October 11, spread into the Buckrabendinni State Forest.
An initial group of five crews were unable to contain the blaze, which was fuelled by dry conditions and wind.
Solid containment lines were in place by Friday, thanks to the efforts of RFS and Forest NSW crews. Around 500 hectares of land was burnt.
On Monday night a small grass fire on Zutano Cl, Valla, was quickly brought under control by the local brigade.
