“Mr Stoner has spent many years in public office and, as he says, at this time, his family needs his support to a greater degree than a political life allows. I wish Andrew Stoner and his family well,” Ms Vernon said.
“What does this mean for the election campaign? The Greens’ campaign remains focussed on local issues and overall campaigning on clean politics.
“The people of NSW are disillusioned with the performance of the major parties after so many have been called before the ICAC. People say all politicians are alike. Not true. There are many honest politicians who act with integrity.
“In the March 28 state election the people of Oxley will be treated to a very different campaign as they decide which candidate and political party deserve the trust of the people.”
