Following last year’s success, the Valla Beach rider has set himself the challenge of cycling 1600 kilometres and raising $1600.
“I am cycling on average approximately 60km a day with more on my days off,” Darren told the Guardian.
“I am on track to reach my cycling goal and still optimistic I can reach my donations goal.”
Darren said he had several family members and close friends who had suffered from cancer, some terminally.
“My wife Rosie and I don’t have any children but I feel this is a worthy cause and I can only begin to imagine the sadness parents experience with their children suffering from cancer.
“This is a way of combining my passion for cycling and keeping fit and helping to raise money for a great cause.”
