The large crowd gathered trackside for a punt in the seven-race TAB meet, some cold beverages and a catch up with mates.
The festivities continued well into the afternoon - with the all important race at 5pm.
Fashions on the field was again hotly contested in all five categories, those competing in their respective categories dressed to the nines.
The Nambucca River Jockey Club were pleased with the meet, saying crowd numbers were up on last year, and that it was generally a very festive and successful day.
