On Friday morning a motorist attempting a three-point turn had a nasty scare when their vehicle went dangerously close to falling into the Nambucca River.
Patrons at the Star Hotel in River St could only look on as the driver attempted to turn around, only to run up onto the embankment that skirts the river.
The rattled motorist then tried to reverse back onto the road but the vehicle was stuck fast (main photo).
The driver was not hurt, and police and Fire and Rescue attended.
Local community radio presenter Vicki Melouney was on the spot to take this image of the stricken vehicle.
Then, on Monday, Vicky’s son Braydon was on hand with a camera when a removalist truck became tangled in power lines on West St (pictured above).
Police, Fire and Rescue and Essential Energy attended; the incident caused a power interruption for about an hour.
