Following the vital trial period to 'get all the right bugs into the system', the plant was officially opened by Nambucca Shire mayor, Rhonda Hoban, last Thursday. Along with fellow councillors and treatment works staff, the mayor said she was proud to open what, along with the Bowraville Dam, has been one of the biggest projects undertaken by the council.
"Today we are here to enjoy the sweet smell of success!"
All present were unanimous in their agreement that odours from the new plant were a vast improvement on the previous facility.
