Police detected an allegedly unregistered black-coloured Toyota Hilux travelling north along the Pacific Highway about 7.30am.
Officers attempted to stop the Toyota, however, police will allege the driver failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.
During the pursuit the Toyota and a Mercedes van collided. The van received minor damage but the driver escaped injury.
Police will allege the Toyota failed to stop after the collision and continued north along the highway while the pursuit was terminated due to safety reasons.
About 8:20am, police saw the Toyota still travelling north along the Pacific Highway near Woolgoolga and a second pursuit was initiated.
During the pursuit police used road spikes which caused the Toyota to stop on the highway, north of the Woolgoolga interchange.
A 27-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station while police conducted a search of the vehicle and allegedly found methyalmphetamine. Inquiries allegedly revealed the man was unlicensed and had outstanding arrest warrants for traffic offences in Queensland.
He was charged with police pursuit-not stop-drive recklessly (x2), drive while licence cancelled, possess prohibited drug (x2) and supply prohibited drug (x2). He was refused bail to appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court on Tuesday, July 8, 2014.
