DOWNTOWN Nambucca Heads came to a grinding halt this morning as scores of VWs from across the nation gathered for a show n shine.
Bowra St was officially blocked off, but collectors and VW tragics gathered in such large numbers that parts of adjacent streets were also used for the display.
The show n shine is one of the highlights of a three-day VW rally - with racing at Raleigh, and social events at Valla Beach and Nambucca Heads.
Hundreds of people crowded Bowra St to look at the vehicles - everything from the iconic Beetles through to campervans and all shapes and models inbetween.
Some were brand spankers - while others well ... needed a little work.
Many of the shops on Bowra St did a roaring trade - serving pastries and coffees to the crowd while a few enterprising buskers were also raking it in.
