LESS than a week after securing the minor premiership, the Nambucca Roosters have sensationally been forced to forfeit Sunday's Group 2 rugby league match against Woolgoolga.
The match set down for the Woolgoolga Sportsground has been scuppered because the Roosters were unable to field a reserve grade side.
As the Seahorses do not have an under 18 team in the competition, that meant the only possible game to be played on Sunday would have been a first grade fixture - but that is not permissable under the Group's rules.
At last year's AGM, Group 2 delegates voted that a competition fixture must consist of at least a first grade fixture and one other grade.
As a result, Woolgoolga first and reserve grades will be awarded the competition points on forfeit from Nambucca Heads RLFC.
