Valley netballers on the edge of glory

TOMORROW, three teams from the Nambucca Valley Netball Association will travel to Penrith to compete against the best netballers in the State, at the 2012 Netball NSW Championships.

The State championships are the pinnacle of domestic representative netball and something the girls have been training for all year – taking part in carnivals along the Mid North Coast in preparation.

Nambucca Valley will contest the Open Division Two, 17U Division Two and Over 35 competitions.

For the past two weeks, 1500 players, coaches and umpires finalised their preparations and fine-tuned game plans to ensure they are primed for the three action-packed days of netball, when 148 teams will compete for the title of ‘State Champions’.

There are more than 111,000 registered players in NSW, but only nine teams will walk away with the tag of ‘champions’ at the titles which cater for divisions from under 17 through to opens and over-age sides.
