Concern as axe hangs over Nambucca Heads Information Centre

CASH-strapped Nambucca Shire Council is running the fine-tooth comb over all of its expenditure – and one of the options on the table would see the closure of the Visitor Information Centre (VIC) at Nambucca Heads.

That prospect prompted an extraordinary meeting last week of concerned members of the Nambucca Valley Tourism Association (NVTA), however council’s business development manager Wayne Lowe assured those there that closure of the VIC was far from a “lay down misere”.

That’s a view shared by mayor Rhonda Hoban, who said council would “have a conversation” with the community and that there were a number of options to be explored.

Tell us what you think. Do we need a Visitor Information Centre at Nambucca Heads?
