Students from Years 11 and 12 at Bowraville Central spent two days in the beautiful city of Armidale for the University of New England’s open day.

Students got to see what was on offer and started thinking about university as an option after school.
Overnight accommodation was at the New England Girls’ School with dinner at one of the university’s colleges, St Albert’s.
Students were given a tour of Mary White College and then roamed free to learn what they could about university life.
Lectures were given from different areas such as degrees in Education (teaching), Social Work, Nursing, Medicine, Engineering, Arts, Technology and Music.
Sessions also ran on how to apply to
university without an ATAR and advice about scholarships.
The university had a number of stalls that provided booklets and helpful material.
Students enjoyed a free barbecue lunch while listening to university students playing music in the courtyard.
