The Nambucca Heads Junior Rugby League Club is urging young enthusiastic sportsmen to sign up for a season of footy.
Nambucca junior rugby league coordinator Pat Nichols said a registration day would be held tomorrow (13th) at EJ Biffin Oval, Nambucca Heads between 4pm and 6pm.
Primary school and high school aged students are encouraged to go along and support their local club. Those who sign up on Friday will get 10 per cent discount from their registration fees and could also go into the draw to get a full fee refund.
Mrs Nichols said Nambucca’s junior rugby league teams were down on past years and hoped the 2009 season would bring a turn-around.
To register, new players will need a birth certificate, Medicare number and player and parent signatures. Former players will only need a parent’s signature to re-register.
Additional sign-up days will be held every Tuesday and Thursday between 4.30pm and 5.30pm, starting Tuesday, February 17. All enquiries should be directed to 6564 7722. Registrations fees start at $70 for one child, $95 for two and $120 for three children.
Also tomorrow, from 11.30am, Nambucca Heads High School footballers were helping primary school students to develop their football skills as part of a special rugby league workshop.
