Roosters ready to ruffle feathers in 2010 season

25 Feb, 2010 04:00 AM
The Nambucca Roosters have been back in training for a few months now and already there is a good feel around the club for the upcoming group 2 season.

It has been a good off-season for the club, with a number of great players signing.

As well as signing most of last year’s players, including group 2 player of the year James Livock, the club is pleased to announce the return of some of Nambucca’s

previous stars.

These include Warwick Jones, Michael Ronan and Geoff Batten, who have spent the last few seasons playing for other clubs.

Nambucca is also pleased to announce the signing of Gary Jarrett, Gary has been a great player over the years and the club is excited to have him back playing for the Roosters.

The Roosters are also anticipating a few more high profile signings in the near future, which will further increase the playing roster.

Amongst these signings, the Roosters are proud to welcome a number of last year’s under 18s squad to grade football, including Cameron Cohen and Jordan Hollis.

It has also been a very successful off-season off the field for the Roosters, with the new committee gaining plenty of support from businesses in the form of sponsorship.

Already, Nambucca has built a strong base for the Roosters to increase on this season.

The Roosters 2010 campaign gets underway this weekend when the team takes on Wingham in a trial match that will include an under 18’s match along with a combined seniors game.

It is a good chance for Nambucca to see how the team is shaping up for the season ahead.

The game kicks off at 3.30pm so any supporters who want to get a glimpse of the new look Roosters should come down and support the club.

There is a great buzz around the club and it would be great to see all the Roosters supporters return

and watch the club put in their best.

This trial will be followed by trials against Sawtell and Orara Valley in the coming weeks.

The Roosters are expecting a big season, one that will be very different from previous years.
