Inglis out of trial match

09 Feb, 2012 03:00 AM
SOUTH Sydney fans and club owner Russell Crowe aren’t the only ones devastated by the injury to Macksville prodigy Greg Inglis - as the mountain man they call ‘GI’ was due to line up for the Bunnies in a trial match at Coffs Harbour on Saturday.

Inglis injured his ankle in the All Stars game at the Gold Coast at the weekend and faces a lengthy break on the sideline.

The Australian Test centre landed awkwardly on his ankle as he scored a try for the Indigenous side.

The 25-year-old told a trainer he was ‘shattered’ as he lay on the ground following the incident before having to be carried from the field.
