With summer drawing to a close the Mid
north coast branch of the Disabled Surfers Association is holding its final ‘Let’s Go Surfing’ day at Scotts Head on Saturday, March 6.
Spokesperson Cliff Lloyd said the Scotts Head days are traditionally a blast with big numbers of
disabled coming down for a last surf of the season.
The branch is calling on all volunteers to make the trip south to ensure the final surf day is a big success.
Numbers of volunteers and disabled participants continued to grow all summer and the branch is hoping to maintain that for Saturday.
The sole aim of the day is to put some ‘smiles on dials’ for the disabled participants.
Sign on for volunteers is 9am, and surfing is from 9.30am to around 12.30pm.
A free barbecue lunch will be held at the end of the session and some prizes given out.
Volunteers are always needed whether experienced or not, and you will be supported by plenty of trained helpers.
A short meeting will take place after the event to set the foundations for next summer.
The DSA is also after a new home for its purpose-built trailer. If you have a secure garage, shed, or under cover spot in the Coffs area the branch can use to store and access the trailer then contact them as soon as possible.
