Netballers show sportmanship at Marion Woods age carnival

12 Aug, 2010 05:34 PM
The Nambucca Valley Netball Association held an all-age carnival at the Marion Woods courts in Macksville, on Sunday, August 1.

The carnival was not played by representative teams, but by all our other netballers in the association, which gives them a chance to compete against other areas.

Brilliant sunshine greeted the 16 teams on the day. Hastings brought four teams to compete against our local girls. The competition was strong in all divisions.

Nambucca was able to rise to the challenge, with two teams finishing second on the day, which was a brilliant achievement, as it was the first time that some of our players had competed against players outside our area.

We would like to congratulate all the players for their excellent sportsmanship on the day. Vicki Coombes, Judy Woodland and Mel Angel organised the day, and without these ladies it would not have run as smoothly as it did.
