On the weekend of July 31 and August 1, four bowling members, and their directors, from the Mid North Coast Vision Impaired and Blind Bowlers Association travelled to Dapto, to compete in the NSW Vision Impaired and Blind Bowls State Championships for 2010.
A great time was had by all and members congratulated Dapto Bowling Club for their generous manner in which they played hosts.
It was a golden age for members of the Mid North Coast, with Dorothy Secomb, from Nambucca Heads Bowling Club, winning the gold medal in the B2-open singles, and joined with Glenn Siddens from Sydney to win the gold medal in the B2-open pairs. Dorothy also won the Ron Humphrey Memorial Trophy for the champion female bowler.
Wayne Thomson, also from Nambucca Heads Bowling Club, won the gold medal in the B1-open singles and, joined with Lyn Dennehy of Woolgoolga Bowling Club to win the gold medal in the B1-open pairs. Wayne also won the Ron Humphrey Memorial Trophy for the champion male bowler.
All competitors appreciate the dedication and enthusiasm of their directors, without whom the Vision Impaired Bowlers would not be able to compete. And congratulations to Lynne Thomson for being rewarded the Gloria Holmes Trophy for the champion director.
