Local golfers, Di Hopkins and Janet Yager, were narrowly defeated by visitors from Branxston, Janina Aird and Melita Watson in the American Foursomes event played at Nambucca Heads Island Golf Course on August 19.
There was only one-5/8ths difference in points in this hotly contested event, with the winners coming in with a score of 62 points.
Second runners-up were Kaye McGoldrick and Rhonda Rowe with 64 1/8th with third runners-up, Lyn Grose and Lori Smith with 66 1/8th points.
Sponsors for the day were Phyllis and Doug Bernauer and there were 56 starters in the field. Ball rundown went to 69 2/8ths.
NTPs on the 7th went to Rhonda Rowe and Kaye McGoldrick (Div 1), Kerry Naylor and Lesley Buxton (Div 2) and Kaye Rose and Georgia Minnett (Div 3). All-in on the 18th went to Brenda Fane and Shirley Willis.
