Valla’s own Heath Joske has lead TravelSIM Team Australia to win the inaugural ISA China Cup on Hainan Island.

He won the individual men’s title to ensure Team Australia also took out the teams’ gold medal ahead of France.

Part of the Hainan Wanning Riyue Bay International Surfing Festival presented by Quiksilver, the China Cup attracted 48 of the world’s best surfers.

After a slow start to the final, Joske powered home with an 8.17, a 7.33 and a 9.33 to finish with 17.50 ahead of the USA’s former World Tour competitor Corey Lopez (12.33), France’s Marc Lacomare (12.30) and Australia’s Nick Muscroft (4.13).
