Last Year, the Bowraville Women’s Golf Pennant Team
won the 2011 District Pennant Competition, going through undefeated, making them the 2011 champions.
They were recognised for this achievement, and will receive the 2011 Senior Sports Team Award.
The team of 10 women competed against teams from
Macksville, Nambucca, Sawtell, Bellingen, Coffs and Woolgoolga.
The Bowraville team had only 10 women to choose from to field a team, where the major clubs they competed against had in excess of 200.
Team member Moira Welch said all the women were
extremely happy and proud to have been recognised for their achievements and to be nominated for the
award.
