Valley’s hot rod invasion

08 Oct, 2009 04:00 AM
Local excitement mounts as the hot-rodders cruise into town for the 33rd annual Drag-Ens Hot Rod Run to Valla Beach.

The colourful varieties of vintage cars are back in town for another year of spectacular roaring fun. More than 350 hot rods are expected to fill Nambucca Heads’ main street on Saturday (10th) for the popular show and shine display from 10am until 12pm.

Everyone is invited along to see the range of vintage Ford engines dating back more than half a century.

“A labour of love”... that is how Drag-Ens Hotrod Club’s president Andrew McClelland explains the reason he and his fellow hot-rodders keep coming back for the annual Valla run each year.

Many of the hot-rodders spend years and thousands of dollars creating their beasts.

To be able to share them with the world is the icing on the cake, which is why the hot-rodders will be in town on the weekend for the CBD show and shine on Saturday (from 10am to noon).

The club also displayed hotrods at Nambucca Plaza car park last night (7th).
