A community market festival will be held at the Valla Beach Preschool this Saturday, August 2.
Rising petrol prices, the demand for fresh local produce, networking and friendship opportunities has inspired this community event, organised by the Valla Beach Urban and Hall Management Committee (VBUHC).
Market coordinators, Christina Barry, John Windmill and Kaz Selbie said some 30 mixed stalls of local food, arts, crafts and community groups such as WIRES, Nambucca Valley Conservation, Valla Fire Brigade and youth organisation Headspace were expected to attend.
Local talented musicians Odz & Sodz would entertain throughout the day. A sausage sizzle was planned, and there would be a café with homemade cakes and delicious coffee and a raffle with excellent prizes, including first prize of two nights accommodation at Dolphin Tracks Beach Houses in Valla Beach.
All money raised would be used to fund community projects in the village along with the protection, repairs and positive growth of Valla Beach.
The event was a joint effort between the community and local businesses including Signs of Style, Dolphin Tracks Beach Houses, AKS Electrical, The Valla Beach Tavern, Valla Real Estate, The Headland Cafe, Valla Beach Bakery, Nambucca Valley Landscape Supplies, Nambucca Shire Council and 2NVR Community Radio.
