The garden enthusiast from Nambucca Heads took out first in the back garden category; had the best spring floral display; was second in the house garden and front garden; and was named reserve champion for 2009.

Sue said she had a wonderful time participating in the competition and encouraged more gardeners to enter next year.

Lesley Bohnenberger, from Macksville, received first place for the best relocatable home or caravan garden.

Lesley’s garden has been a labour of love for the past 18 months at her home at the Nambucca River Tourist Park.

She said she was shocked to win the title for a second year and hoped for more competition in next year’s event.
