SRC members celebrate induction

04 Mar, 2010 04:00 AM
Nambucca Heads Public School held its annual students representative induction day on February 26.

Members of the SRC from all school years were presented with badges to identify them in their new roles.

School Administrative Officer Jenny Argent said the school had two representatives from each class, taking the total number of SRC member to 22 students.

This year SRC will kick off its fundraising role with ‘Dance 4 Down’s Syndrome’, an annual National event scheduled to coincide with International Down’s Syndrome Day on March 21.

The event will feature discos at school with a $2 donation to participate in the event.

Other up-and-coming fundraisers planned include a mufti day, donut day and also a crazy hair day, which were all aimed to help raise funds for equipment for classrooms and the soon-to-be-completed school hall.

Mrs Argent said last year’s SRC had a very successful year and raised enough money to buy each of the eleven classes a digital camera.

“These have been a much needed item for some time,” Mrs Argent said.
