Following a spate of break and enters in Bowraville, Nambucca Heads and lower Coffs Harbour (Urunga) police have been conducting Operation Wizi with promising results.
“We have conducted a number of search warrants in Bowraville over the last two weeks,” Port Macquarie Police Station duty officer Insp Kim Fehon said.
“As a result, police have identified a number of suspects of these offences,” she said.
Insp Fehon said police would continue to investigate these matters and she was confident of arrests.
To further assist police catch offenders, police are appealing to members of the public to come forward, contact CrimeStoppers or Nambucca Heads and Macksville police stations.
“We have had information from the community which has enabled us to recover stolen vehicles,” Insp Fehon said. “We have been very concerned with the number of break and enters.’
Operation Wizi has been a joint effort with police from the Coffs Harbour command.
On January 18 the Bowraville Community Crime Prevention Program Working Party held a community meeting with guest speakers magistrate Wayne Evans, and Insp Fehon.
