Local police officers ‘true blue’ effort recognised

Four Valley police officers were recognised for their contribution to the community and the police force at a special award ceremony in Port Macquarie on October 28.

Senior Constable Mark Baxter was presented with a National Police Medal for his contribution to the police force for the past 15 years.

Sergeant Jarrod Langan received a State Police Medal for his 10-year contribution to the force.

Leading Senior Constable Anthony Brown was awarded a Certificate of Merit in recognition of his persistent and diligent police work in the recovery of stolen property, valued at $290,000, following a commercial break, enter and steal at a Brisbane electrical retailer in October last year.

Constable Colin Bird also received a Certificate of Merit in recognition of his brave actions to resuscitate an unconscious man at a Kempsey shopping centre in January 2005.
