It’s ‘Showtime’ again and that means it is time to set aside Friday, November 6 to enjoy an extravaganza that brings together over 500 performers from all the public schools in the Nambucca Valley for an evening of entertainment.
This is the second biennial event of its kind organised by the Nambucca Valley Community of Public Schools and it will showcase a variety of performances reflecting the diverse talent of the younger members of the community.
Primary school students from Macksville, Scotts Head, Stuarts Point, Eungai, Medlow, Nambucca and Frank Partridge VC public schools will join others from Bowraville Central School as well as Macksville and Nambucca Heads high schools, each school providing 10 minutes of entertainment including singing, dancing, instrumental and dramatic performances before coming together in a 500 piece choir for the finale.
Showtime’s coordinator, Matt Gilbert said all the schools began rehearsals last term and are now putting on the finishing touches and finalising costumes.
“It is a huge undertaking to bring together so many students but the inaugural event in 2007 proved to be a great success,” he said.
“It was well received by the audience and it provides a unique experience for all those students who take part.”
Showtime will be held at the Macksville Stadium on Friday, November 6.
The show will run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, however, parents and guests are welcome to arrive any time after 5pm as the local Lions clubs will be running a barbecue.
Tickets for Showtime are $5 each or $15 for a family of four.
Tickets will be available through each of the participating schools and will also be available at the door on the night.
