Highway upgrade details on display

04 Feb, 2010 09:09 AM
Last week the Roads and Traffic Authority released the environmental assessment for the Warrell Creek to Urunga Pacific Highway upgrade.

An RTA spokesperson said that the display would allow the community to see details of the Warrell Creek project, which had been developed with extensive community input over the past seven years.

“The display of the environmental assessment will provide another opportunity for the public to comment on the project before it is considered for planning approval,” the spokesperson said.

The Warrell Creek to Urunga project will involve an upgrade of the existing road to a four-lane divided road.

It also includes the bypass of Warrell Creek, Macksville, Bellwood and Urunga.

The assessment will go on public display in various locations throughout the shire until March 29, 2010.

Members of the public are invited to make written submissions on the project.
