Cycleway on track

25 Mar, 2010 03:00 AM
Nambucca Heads Coast Cycleway project received an additional boost after the corporate arm of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Australian Conference Association, agreed to grant Nambucca Shire Council a five-metre easement through its property with no compensation required.

As outlined in the Nambucca Shire Council Director of Engineering Services report to the ordinary council meeting last week (18th), council had obtained funding to build the proposed cycleway, which will link Nambucca Heads and Macksville.

The cycle path is being constructed on the western side of the Pacific Highway in an effort to maintain a safe distance from the highway for cyclists and pedestrians.

The easement means that the proposed cycleway project can go ahead with no deviation.
