Eight-year-old Tia Scarth is showing her fighting spirit.
Her mum, Karina, said Tia’s condition was slowly improving since she sustaining serious head injuries following the Valla car crash which claimed the life of her uncle, Anthony Peninton, earlier this month.
Tia was rushed to Sydney’s Westmead Children’s Hospital where she remained in an induced coma for several days.
Tia has since awoken from the coma and no longer requires life support, however doctors expect Tia’s recovery will take several months of intensive care.
Friends of the family come together with the community raise money to assist Tia’s parents so they may stay by her side during her long road to recovery.
Fellow students and staff at Nambucca Heads Public School held a crazy hair day last Friday (23rd) to raise money for the family.
Frank Partridge VC Public School had planned also to hold a fundraiser for the family tomorrow.
Anyone who wishes to make a donation help Tia and her family, can do so at the Commonwealth Bank in Nambucca Heads.
Tia’s parents said they were greatly touched by the generosity of friends and the community and thanked all who made donations to help Tia’s recovery.
